OG Legs and Shoulders and Cleavage, Oh My!

Nov 14, 2008 14:11

Today is not turning out to be a good day for me.

But instead of wallowing and moping on my journal, I'm choosing to not talk about it and instead share clips. Enough voice posts have been transcribed to appease the Julie-pyon, so you all finally get teh sexy OG vampires. ;)

The musical Dracula that I saw back in June... I've decided that it's basically like Phantom if Christine chose the Phantom in the end. :P It's the story of a man who made a deal with a demon to revive his dead wife -- he became a vampire, and the demon promised that someday the woman he loved would be reincarnated. Almost four and a half centuries later, after having shut himself up in Transylvania for ages, Count Dracula decides to actively search for his reincarnated wife by moving to London. Conveniently for him, the man he buys a mansion from just happens to be engaged to a girl who bears a striking resemblance...

Which brings us to the first clip. Dracula expressly told his guest to *lock his door* before going to bed, but apparently he's too busy dancing around with a picture of his fiancee. I like to call this "Mina, aka Jonathan's Really Gay Song". ;P But anyway. You've already seen the preview: What Happens If You Don't Lock Your Door...

(As a side note, that same actor played Fred Casely, along with being the assistant choreographer in Chicago. He certainly has gotten his fill of scantily-clad women this year. X3 Oh, and sorry the sound is a tiny bit off in all of these.)

Clip #2 is just for laughs. If you know nothing about Japanese pop culture and/or haven't heard of Matsudaira Ken, I'll refer you to videos of the "MatsuKen Samba" which are easily found on YouTube, etc. Anyway, MatsuKen played Dracula -- and apparently you can't have a MatsuKen!Dracula without including at least one scene with him in shiny fabric swinging around on a wire. XD XD I didn't feel bad giggling softly at this in the theater because the two ladies next to me were doing the same thing. X3 Bonus: Hacchan being bloodthirsty. She's a bit... overzealous. ;P (Okay, and she also wants to get Mina out of the way so she can have her darling count-sama to herself.)

Last one, the one you're all probably most interested in. :P Rika plays Mina's adoptive older sister, Lucy. While Mina is the polite and soft-spoken one, Lucy is the bubbly, gregarious one who collects men's hearts so she can turn around and dance on them later. X3 But after seeing how happy Mina is being engaged to Jonathan (although actually in this scene Mina is elated after her first meeting with a handsome and mysterious count), Lucy thinks she might take the plunge too. She sings a song promising to say "yes" to her darling Arthur tomorrow morning... and, well, you'll see what happens.

...That was fun. Anyone fancy a six-month-late review / demachi report? :)
