more singin' in the rain love!

So jenebi implied that she'd like to have more Singin' in the Rain mp3s, and since she posted that delightfully squeeful Season of Yumikos this evening, I thought it would be quite unkind of me not to return the favor. ;-)

Thus... hooray, more mp3s!! With comments, even!

Fit as a Fiddle - Touko & Tani's opening dance. I cannot say enough times how much I love the little noises Touko makes when she dances. <33
All I Do is Dream of You - Hizuki Hana's cute little number! I left in a bit of dialogue at the end (it was hard to find a place to cut it off), just because I love the cake joke so much. XDD
Singin' in the Rain (Reprise) - Beginning of the second act. Er, I guess I have no interesting comment on this one. ^^;;
Kathy's 'Would You' - Of course I had to cut off the beginning, with Un's impressively bad off-key singing. I doubted anyone would want to hear that - it's amusing, but painful.
Don's 'Would You' - 40 seconds of pure love. That's all I have to say.
What's Wrong with Me? - Un-chan gets one number in this show to sing semi-decently, and I think it's adorable. I left in her little monologue at the beginning, where she boosts her own confidence, telling herself in the mirror how beautiful and talented she is. XDD
Broadway Melody / Rhythm - Yes, it's the whole thing. Over 10 minutes and 12 MB of music, ladies. Admittedly it's not the same as seeing Touko sex it up all over the stage, but the music is still good. ;-)
Singin' in the Rain (Reprise 2) - This cuts off suddenly, of course, because Tani breaks in and then Hizuki Hana runs off down the aisle and Touko has to tell the audience to stop her and everybody laughs. ^__^;;
You Are My Lucky Star (Reprise) - The ending duet, aawww. Love.

Phew, that took me a while. Now I've practically uploaded the whole musical, except for "Beautiful Girl"... and that ensemble number in the beginning... Although I might be persuaded to record the revue numbers, as Touko singing "Temptation" is admittedly pretty damn cool. And there's Un-chan with her adorably bad English in "Good Morning". XDD

And now that I've done all that, I suppose I may as well say a few words on this show in general. Singin' in the Rain - the original with Gene Kelly - was probably my favorite movie as a child, and is still one of my favorite movies. So it would be rather impossible for me not to like the Takarazuka version. And for the most part I try not to compare the two, because I like different things in both of them. (Original version: When Don said to Kathy, "Now that I know where you live, I'd like to see your home", I was totally unfazed. 'Zuka version: "Now that I know you live in a cake, show me inside!" I busted up laughing. And it makes Cosmo's "We looked inside every cake in town" much funnier later. :-D)

But, of course, it practically doesn't need to be said that the dancing is better in the original. Gene Kelly is just a god, seriously. And there are some parts I really missed in Touko and Itsumine Aki's version of Gene Kelly's dance with the inordinately sexy Cyd Charisse. Because they didn't do this. Or this. Most importantly, they didn't do this awesome lift, which honestly doesn't look so hard to me... but what do I know, I'm not a dancer. T__T;;

Anyway, that's my small portion of objectivity for the evening. I still love Ame ni Utaeba to bits, and as I said there are even some things I like better in the 'Zuka version. And obviously I can forgive Itsumine Aki for not having legs like Cyd Charisse... because nobody has legs like Cyd Charisse. *_____* (Amusing Wikipedia fact: "She is featured in the 2001 Guinness Book of World Records under "Most Valuable Legs," since a $5 million insurance policy was accepted on her legs in 1952." Awesome.)

Okay, I'm really done now. ^_^;; Enjoy the mp3s. <3 Just don't share them all over the interweb, you know the drill.

Edit: Here is the first batch of mp3s again, for people who didn't get them. ^_~
