49th Takarazuka Dance Festival
Twice I've tried to start a buyoukai report and twice Audacity has crashed and I've lost my recording. D:<
Short version for now.
Doi-chan was some kind of lord and Asato Mao was her servant and WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME DOI-CHAMA IS SO GOOD AT JAPANESE DANCE?! I was ENTHRALLED.
Micchan danced with Itsumine-san and was thinking about slitting her belly but Itsumine-san grabbed her wakazashi and they gently struggled over it until Itsumine-san won. X3 Then Micchan tried for her katana with the same result. ^^;;
Tomu and Kyou-san died in the snow. >.>;; But it was pretty?
Tom... Tom.
Tom danced in a gorgeous kimono...
...with the obi...
...tied in the front.
TOM DANCED AS A GORGEOUS COURTESAN.
Then two baby musumeyaku distracted us with jingly streamers hanging from their sleeves so Tom could change into one of those big ol' manes of hair and scary-faced-demon make-up. She twirled her mane around to much applause. X3
Mieko-sama was prettier at de than onstage. :( I really did not like her costume and was bitterly disappointed.
Seeing Kasugano-sama onstage made me cry. I SAW A TAKARAZUKA LEGEND. DANCING SO SOLEMNLY. Then Ebira-san came and said "omukae ni mairimashita" and rowed her away through the mist in a little boat.
In the finale, everyone had on subtle make-up, black kimono and green hakama -- except Ebira-san, Tom, Mieko-sama and Kasugano-sama. (They all stayed in their dance costumes, so Tom was still in scary-faced-demon-mode.)
Then at de, almost all of the babies came out in the same hakama. <3 Doi-chama <3 <3 Hakama <3 <3 <3
I waited until 10:40PM to see Tom -- and Micchan! -- but I persevered and was rewarded. ^___^
