OMG I love the cast list for Pimpernel!

Touko Percy, Asuka Marguerite and Chie Chauvelin! Finally Chie as a villain!

Also did they explain which version of the script this Scarlet Pimpernel is using? So far the show ran through 4 revisions over the years.

The special site just says it's going to be a "Takarazuka version". ^^;; They probably don't think the Japanese fans would care which version of the English script it is...

Given that Wildhorn tweaked various things over the four versions, I'm wondering if this new one will also be a little different? I just hope nothing changes in a bad direction, but really, I can't imagine this show NOT being fabulous.

It is the most fabulous show ever. I can't wait. Except I wish it was Sora. But I still can't wait.

I'm guessing that since he knows the Takarazuka system from NSG, and did such a good job there of having interesting (and not pointless!) things for so many people to do, I'm imagining tweaking in that direction? Maybe new characters, like Elmer in 'Elisabeth', that sort of thing.

Not that I've ever actually seen it, because it's only ever been done in Melbourne.

...do you mean a role that's about the same size as Elmer, or did I somehow miss something huge and Elmer was an addition for the Takarazuka productions of Elisabeth?

There's really great roles for Touko, Chie, and Asuka. I think some of the "just out of shinko" cast members will also get lucky and will have a lot of fun playing the other members of the League of the Scarlet Pimpernel. I'm not sure what they're going to do with Shii-san and Toyoko. I would imagine they will probably get the roles of Marguerite's younger brother Armand and Tussaud, a guy Percy ends up helping. However, both of those are comparatively small roles, which so you may be right and they might end up with extra songs.

I thought I heard somewhere that Elmer was written on for Wao, because she couldn't possibly not have a role, and there wasn't a suitable one in the original. But now I can't remember when or where I heard this or find it again, so I might be making it up. >.>

But if I'm not, it seems like something that might happen in Pimpernel. Maybe. We all know it's no good trying to guess at the ways of Hankyu.

I remember reading the same thing, but I honestly don't remember WHERE

Wao said so in one of her dinner shows; "So In Love", I think. She literally said "the role of Elmer was written for me." :3

Just like you, I'll reply to everyone with the same comment! X3

I wonder if something like that will happen in TSP? I'm kind of doubtful, but like you I haven't actually seen the show either...

I'm, like I said, kind of going off NSG, where there were songs and characters for people all over the place, and hoping that's because someone explained to Wildhorn how appreciated that is in Takarazuka ;)

I really do hope that Toyoko and Shii-sama get extra, even just little, songs written for them, though.

Funny, I would guess just the opposite!! I think Wildhorn, a Broadway composer, is more used to writing big ensemble pieces with lots of little character solos and stuff... And that those things are not as highly prized in 'Zuka. :( Or at least, not by the playwrights. D:

I may as well reply to everyone on this. X3

Elmer was written for Wao. :D If you watch a German/Austrian version of Elisabeth, you'll see that there is indeed no Elmer role. ^^;; So Wao said in one of her dinner shows ("So in Love", I believe) "the role of Elmer was written for me".

I'm really curious to hear everyone's TSP casting speculations, because I've heard the music but I'm not as familiar with it as everyone else!

Huh, I had no idea. I'm assuming that the revolutionaries as a whole are still in the other versions? Are characters like Stephan, etc. also products of the Takarazuka version?

Yes, all Zuka products. ^^;
No Hungarians, no Café people (I mean the guy reading the paper, with the glasses, played by Chiharu in the Hanagumi version. I am too lazy to look it up right now on the wiki ^^;; )
