This week on 'attempting to actually use my LJ': BILL CLINTON CAME INTO MY PLACE OF WORK ON THURSDAY.
Inevitably, he turned up five minutes after I'd left for lunch.
I mean, not that I had any particular desire to meet him anyway, but still. It would have made for an interesting story. Especially as I probably would have just LAUGHED IN HIS FACE at the very sight of him, because a) I know him best from The Simpsons and b) what else does one do when faced with surprise former presidents? And now I shall never get the chance to laugh in the face of an ex-president :(
Also, whilst I am here and typing about work, we sold a first ed of C.S.Lewis' first novel (published under a pseudonym, even!) for £15,000 last week. The main shop announced it on their twitter and someone replied saying they'd be scared to even touch it and now I am sat here feeling the smugness that comes from HAVING TOUCHED THAT BOOK AND MORE BESIDES.
I HAVE TOUCHED BOOKS THAT COST MORE THAN MY PARENTS' HOUSE DID 30 YEARS AGO. HA HAAA.
