OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD FUCK THIS SHOW I can't even. Kurt spouts bullshit like that without it ever being addressed and barely being presented as A BAD FUCKING THING TO SAY - and fyi Kurt girls can be bi too? girls can be gay too? eurgh or I guess I should be directing that particular fyi at RM. THEN BLAINE COMPARES KURT TO KAROFSKY WTF WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT
AND RACHEL HOW COULD YOU DO THAT OMG KURT IS YOUR BFF SUPPOSEDLY DON'T GO AFTER HIS MAN
AND BIESTE GETTING ONE PRECIOUS LITTLE LINE IN BEING A VOICE OF RESPONSIBILITY AND REASON BEFORE HER MESSAGE IS UNDERMINED BY THE WHOLE GLEE CLUB RANDOMLY BECOMING MINI-ALCOHOLICS AFTER ONE PARTY?? oh my god seriously Will getting them all to sign those fucking pledges is just the most bullshit this show has flung at me since the Jesus Episode. Because people can't just learn to be sensible on Glee, oh my no, they have to sign pledges~ after vomiting over each other's faces~
God I am just so pissed off right now idek if I am going to watch next week. I mean, yes this is the show I generally watch to hate on and shriek over so I come into episodes expecting to be at least a little enraged, but my god. Bisexuality doesn't exist on this show! Lesbians don't exist on this show! The only LGBT presence we have since RM decided to give Brittany and Santana boyfriends and never again address their sexualities is the big fat G. And I am glad that there are gay teens on such a popular, mainstream show, I am, but fffffffff. I didn't want Blaine questioning his sexuality (no matter how delicately handled, and this was not exactly delicately handled) because whilst questioning is a good thing in the real world, this is the TV world and I knew he was going to come away from the experience more certain of his gayness. You know any straight character who dares question their sexuality on this show is only going to end up reaffirming their straightness or maybe MAYBE ~realise they were gay all along~. That is what I feel like right now. In the world of Glee - in the world of TV in general - bisexuality is just a dramatic plot device used for a smidge of conflict and questioning before normalcy reasserts itself.
We'll get after school specials about Jesus and teen drinking and bullying, but we are never gonna get ourselves an after school special on how Kurt describing bisexuality as "a term gay guys use in highschool when they want to hold hands with girls and feel like a normal person" is offensive and wrong.
Just. JUST.
