A DAY OF MINOR VICTORIES!
a) I read a seriously dense article I'm doing a group presentation on tomorrow and came away from the experience feeling as if I kind of understand what Appadurai is getting at. (I haven't actually written my part of the presentation yet, but whatever it's only got to be 500 words tops.)
b) I rang up potential future landlady to ask if I could pay half rent over the summer, as I won't be occupying the room. She's got to discuss it with her husband first, but I think the likely answer will be yes yes I can, and then my future will be sorted! (lol she hadn't though that far ahead yet. Ahh the difference between getting money from lodgers vs. being the lodger worrying about paying money.)
c) My postal vote FINALLY bloody arrived. Irritating story: I applied for postal vote just over a fortnight ago and specified on the form, in the 'do you want it sent to a different address?' section, that yes I wanted it sent to uni town instead of my hometown where I'm registered - and then yesterday I get an email from my mum going 'oh btdubs your postal vote has arrived here! I've forwarded it to you!' GODDAMMIT ELECTORAL OFFICE. Whatever, I got it today, I ticked my boxes, I shoved it in the post box, it's all done. My first ever participation in an election, awww. I feel so ~adult~
d) Uhh... I read Marvel 1602 in the gaps between all of the above. That's a minor victory of the soul or something? I don't need to justify my victories to you!! It was a really cool book, too. I recommend it. (No seriously, read it you bitches. I have nobody to talk about it with! How can I make up elaborate fantasies about Lord Iron and Rojhaz meeting all by myself? (Very easily, is how I can. BUT IT'S MORE FUN WITH COMPANY.)

UNVICTORIES:
SO MUCH WORK TO DO ARRRRGH. Yes I am still reading comics and tooling around on the internet despite it. If I focussed entirely on my workload, my brain would disconnect and that would be no good at all.
Also I really want to write this SPN fic I've had in progress for a couple of weeks, but I just don't have tiiiime. Sigh. Maybe the finale won't joss it too hard. Maybe I'll be able to slot it into one of my regular periods of procrastination. WE SHALL SEE.
