BY THE WAY, I've been meaning to say! Way back in the day, my dad was doing an MA on observed violence in people with learning disabilities, or something along those lines. (He had to quit two thirds of the way through, as his employers decided they no longer wanted to give him one day off a week to help him manage twenty hours of study on top of his full time job and his being a father to two young children... apparently my dad's employers were DICKS.)
Anyway, my point is, we had a discussion about it the other day and one of the most interesting things to crop up was that some of his research was on how children react to violent TV shows/films (but sadly not video games, as this was... yknow, twenty odd years ago.) He found that whilst kids who watched violent media without any supervision were more prone to violent behaviour, kids who watched violent media with an adult who talked to them about it afterwards were actually less prone to violence themselves than the kids who didn't watch anything violent at all.
WHICH I FOUND RATHER INTERESTING, SO I DECIDED TO SHARE.
AND THEN I ACCIDENTALLY CLOSED FIREFOX JUST AS I WAS ABOUT TO POST IT, WHICH MEANT I HAD TO CLOSE EVERYTHING ELSE DOWN AND START OVER AGAIN BECAUSE IF THE FIREFOX TAB ISN'T ON THE FAR LEFT OF THE START BAR I GET CONFUSED, SO BY GOD YOU HAD BETTER FIND IT EXTRA INTERESTING NOW.
