eta: OH SNAP taking out the battery = victory. Oh laptop, you stupid thing. /eta
So in a hilarious turn of events, my laptop has stopped working! I am a genius who apparently forgot to bring the manual to uni with me, so my current method is 'staring at it to see if anything new has happened' plus an occasional plug-in/unplug. I'm almost certain that the little flashing light means there's a problem with the battery, but essentially I HAVE NO GOT A CLUE. It has done this before, and last time it just kind of started working again one day (although last time I was at home, so I just migrated to the PC and never quite got around to getting my dad to look at it until 10 months later- at which point, surprise! It was fine again), so I am hoping that is what will happen now.
I'm going to give it a couple of days and then go to the laptop clinic, and then if they can't do anything... idk. It's less than a fortnight 'til I go home. This laptop is v. old, so my parents might be willing to help me out with getting a new one.
Most annoying is the fact that my CD player gave up the ghost a while back too, so currently the only music I've got is the couple of hundred songs on my mp3 player. They are a couple of hundred GOOD songs, but still. Not enough.
ARGH THIS IS SO ANNOYING. I write 90% of my fic by hand, so at least that is something.
Also, my leafy header is not quite the same shade of blue as the background on this monitor, which is weird. Has it always been like this and you were all just too polite to tell me?
