things; stuff

OH MY GOD GUYS. I bought a NOOK on Wednesday, because I am joining the digital reading revolution I guess, and obviously I just put a buttload of fic on it. And so on my work commute! And in my lunch breaks! I was just kicking back and reading some good ol' fanfictions. This is like, the dream. Thirteen years of fandom have been leading me up to this moment. I'm so happy.

(Also I reread the first chapter of my latest Steve/Tony fic and spotted some typos and then highlighted those typos so I can just bring up the list of highlights and FIND ALL THESE TYPOS TO CORRECT IN THE FIC SOB IT'S LIKE MAGIC.)

Still so helplessly caught up in Thorin/Bilbo, why, why, god help me I love it. The whole fandom is built on AUs where Thorin doesn't die in the end and I LOVE IT. I even don't entirely hate all of the fic where Frodo is born thirty years earlier than book canon.

Hopefully this is but a fleeting fandom love and by the time the third film comes out I'll have moved to pastures new, because you just know PJackson is going to aim for Boromir heights of tragedy. IT'LL BE SLOW MOTION AND FIGHTING TO THE VERY LAST AND PROBABLY ANNIE LENNOX SINGING SOMETHING MOVING WHILST THE SOUND OF THE BATTLE FADES. Fucksake Peter Jackson.

AND FILI AND KILI NOOO WHYYY.

Male BFF and I are successfully managing to chat to each other post admitting feelings events, so I guess if nothing else our friendship will not be entirely ruined if it all goes tits up. Optimism~

(ngl there is a part of me sort of hoping we fall desperately in love and get together and stay together forever because then I would not have to endure the build up to another first date EVER AGAIN.)

OH P.S. I ACCIDENTALLY NAMED MY NOOK BILBO? I definitely was not planning on naming it anything at all, but then I opened the packaging and there it was so tiny and fat and cute and Bilbo happened.

rl: questionable love-life, fangirlish glee, ship: thorin/bilbo what, fan: the hobbit
