Next Thursday March 30th, Friday March 31st, and Saturday April 1st,
I am in a play (not involving singing or dancing divas) called Top Girls by Caroyl Churchill.
It is about the struggle women have to go through to make it.
It is dark, comedic, controversial and twisted.
To be quite simply, we're not sure if my teacher is going to get fired for this.
The background music is Sleater Kinney.
It's at 7pm Thursday and Friday, and 2pm Saturday.
Tickets are $5 for students K-12
& $10 for the general public.
Here's the deal,
for all the ticket money I sell, I get 10%.
After the play, I will be going straight into a documentary project.
The documentary is going to be a very twisted documentary on people's views on AIDS.
Anyone from this area can be in it. However, if you are under the age of eighteen, a parent or guardian will have to sign a permission slip.
There's only one problem.
I am short $2,000 needed to purchase an apple laptop and Final Cut Pro
needed to edit this project, and make it something worth viewing.
The project will enable more people to become aware of what ways there are to help people with AIDS without worrying that some places are corrupt.
It'll help raise awareness, and maybe even some money.
We're looking to find sponsors by showing them this film,
and create a team for the AIDS Walk 2006.
Also, it will benefit me with school credits,
and becoming familiar with the program will give me more internship options.
Familiarity with the program will look good to film schools, and I will be able to of course use the laptop and editing program on other films projects.
Buying tickets from me for my play, or any small donations made would help me out so much.
I don't like asking people for money, but the reason everyone suffers from so much unneeded drama is that no one has any faith anymore.
I'm trying to have a little faith.
I will be co-directing a short film in May, over the next two weeks I'll be finishing editing on a short I made and I'm hoping to shoot a second documentary in the summer.
After I get my license in a little over a month I'm hoping to start looking for internship and other film work. I'm currently writing a feature film.
I'm looking to find a decent job over the next few months as well.
