"Tony!" Dinah sat back into the armchair, turning it so it faced the band-poster-covered wall. She could hear Gibson talking to the new bartender behind her, and a few of the regulars playing pool, as well as the jukebox playing something from a decade before. "Hey. Um." A sudden memory of yesterday's interruption made her facepalm and blush. "Are you and Ronan okay? I am so sorry."
"I'm hoping not? But I tried to talk to Barbara and Helena about staying without getting into, you know." She lowered her voice. "Magic and other worlds and weird animals, and they could tell I was holding back. Oh! And I told Geoffrey, about you guys coming to rescue me? And he said he'd post bail if you really needed it."
"Good to know," Tony said. "Do you want to convince them the place is normal or that you're not insane? Maybe we could capture a radio squirrel and bring it up to you for show and tell."
"Not-normal is okay, it's the not-dangerous they're going to worry about," Dinah told him. "Although, radio squirrels are probably cute. Maybe they'd think it was safe, if we had one of those."
"Are you getting my sister involved in drinking?" Helena demanded, having wrestled the phone away from Dinah. "Is that why she wants to keep going to that school?"
"No!" Tony protested. Any plausible explanations would sound worse than the truth, so he just told her, "We were talking about catching squirrels. The, uh, joke around here is that they like rum." And there was maybe some truth to that, but Tony didn't think that would help his case.
Sitting in No Man's Land, hiding in one of the smaller corners with phone in hand, Dinah sighed.
"Pick up, Tony. Pick up?"

"Gibson's going to do what?"
Dinah froze. Then looked up. "Hey, Helena." Ulp.

"Helena! Give me that back!"
"Who am I talking to?" Helena demanded.
