Claire decided to go with a simple black dress for the dance.

Deciding what to do with her hair was harder and she ended up going with loose waves.

Dinah was trying to put her hair up, but getting distracted by Camille playing with the edges of her violet dress. "Cut it out, kitty."

Claire scooped up the cat, carefully holding her away from her body so she wouldn't get cat hair on her dress. "If you don't stop, we'll lock you in the closet," she teased.

"Your dress is beautiful," she told Dinah.

Camille was meowing in protest at having her entertainment taken away, and Dinah leaned over to shake a finger at her. "No snagging the hem!" Then she kissed her on the nose, and grinned at Claire. "Thanks! You like it? Really?" She bit her lip. "Not too dressed up? Yours is so pretty..."

"It's perfect for you," Claire insisted. "I can't pull off long dresses. I look like a little girl playing dress up."

"I seriously doubt that, but the dress you've got is really sophisticated, so I don't know why you'd want to change it." Dinah grinned, and finally got her hair to stay. "What do you think, dark lipstick or light?" She grinned. "Jon's taking you, right?"

"Hmmmm, do you have anything in a plum to match your dress?" Claire suggested. "And, yes, he asked me like a week ago. Who are you going with?"

"I think so," Dinah said, rummaging through her little basket of lipsticks. "I hardly ever wear it... George. He asked me yesterday when we were getting coffee." She rolled her eyes. "And Turtle had to call that a date on the Radio."

"So yesterday wasn't a date?" Claire asked. "But tonight is, right?"

"Yup and yup!" Dinah did a little dance on her chair, and said, "Ha, found it!" then started to apply a light plum lipstick to her mouth. "All I want is it to go better than my last date. That'll be enough for me." She slanted Claire a look. "You and Jon aren't going as just friends, are you?"

"It will," Claire promised. "Or I'll beat him up."

Or make threatening noises.

"And I don't think so. I mean, we haven't really clarified anything, but... I'm pretty sure it's a date date."

"Yay!" Dinah held up her hand for a high-five as she finished putting on her lipstick. "And seriously, no scaring George. He's... skittery. With some reasons, I think." She grinned though. "But you can ask him questions if you want."

Claire finally put Camille down and grinned as she gave Dinah a high-five. "I promise I won't scare him. I won't even ask questions tonight. I'll wait and see how things go."

"Thanks," Dinah said, grateful. "This getting ready is a lot easier than it was when Chad was here. Although he always was good for checking on a guy's opinion about my make-up." She grinned. "Oh! And careful of the punch when it starts getting late. Someone always spikes it."

"Oh, well, alcohol doesn't have an effect on me," Claire explained. "But thanks for the warning. I'll pass it along to Jon."

Hark, there was a knocking at the door!

Dinah bounced over, then called, "One second!" before grabbing her sandals, and hopping to put them on. "Yes!" Then she opened the door, and beamed at George. "Hi!"
