Peter stood beside Neal at the funeral, wordlessly watching with his hands in his pockets. He hated to see this. He had liked Ellen. And she was family to Neal. She mattered to him, so she mattered to Peter. He knew what it felt like to lose someone close to you. There were no words that he could say that would ever make it up to Neal. The only thing he could do was be there for Neal, support him and help him as best he could.
When the service was over, Peter didn't move. Gazing up at Neal, he wasn't sure if the man would want to be alone or want someone to talk to. Peter would be good with either. Finally, he spoke. "Neal, you okay?"
