You know what I miss the most? Pyramid.
Sure, there's one set up in Joe's Bar over on Galactica, but we call it Pyramid X since it's nothing like the real deal. No, let me tell you what the real one's like.
First off? The Caprica Buccaneers are the best team, hands-down. Now that we've got that out of the way (go C-Bucs!), let's talk a little about how to play it. Kara supposedly should be able to tell you, too, considering she wanted to be a professional player, but c'mon. Bum knee? Yeah, I still don't buy that, Kara.
Anyway, you've got some lines. It's shaped like a pyramid, of course, and that's where you get the name of the game from. You can have up to eight players on the court at once, or you can play one-on-one. It's pretty flexible that way. The objective is simple -- get the ball to the top of the pyramid. The outlined areas or the center are the neutral zones, and although this is a full-body-contact sport, once you hit one of those lined areas, you can't touch the other player. Tricky.
You get tackled, you have to pass the ball. You're only allowed three paces without shooting, passing, or rebounding the ball off one of the "walls". The ball's pretty small, which makes inside shots a bit trickier... but the more inside plays you get, the more likely the defensive play which is why it's so physical. (And probably why Kara has that bum knee, I'd guess...)
So, get the ball to the head of the pyramid, don't get tackled because you'll have to pass the ball, stay in the arena... piece of cake. If I can draw a couple lines at Delphi Union High School to make a regulation-sized area to play Pyramid, anyone can.
