Almost everyone was in a funk at today's 9:30 AM dev huddle. The gray, drizzling weather joined with the massive amount of pollen, cherry blossom droppings and assorted Spring detritus to make for a series of morose and muddy Monday meetings.
Except for me.
I really did not feel all that different until people called attention to it. Twice, I was described as giddy. Oblivious, I coasted through my 11 AM Scrum meeting and my 1:15 bug scrub with vim, vigor and a certain flippant insouciance.
This afternoon my project manager stopped me (resulting in my acrobatic spin on one heel) and demanded to know what was up. I had to admit to having a great weekend, though I did not realize just how great until then. After more poking and prodding, I acquiesced to her demands for more detail.
"Well," I began, "You see, I'm in this long-distance relationship..."
"Oh, and you finally got a chance to-"
"HAVE SEX!"
Perhaps I blurted out that last bit louder than was ideal, but oh what a difference soiled sheets and a half-roll of paper towels makes!
