Without the baggage of those individuals who still can't seem to grasp blinds, chip denominations and hand precedence, we tore through three games (eight person, seven person and six person, respectively) in the time it usually takes to play two. I won the first, came in second in the second, and fourth in the final tournament, losing after pushing all-in with pocket queens versus king-six suited (he flopped a king). I play poker every Saturday now, alternating between
B.'s home game and my own. It still has yet to lose its appeal for me, though I feel I have plateaued mostly due to an unwillingness to devote time to study. My free time is inevitably consumed by raking leaves, assembling Christmas trees and cleaning the house.
Somehow, today I will manage to squeeze Christmas shopping and my semi-monthly workout into there too.
