Did he try to pull some girl up on stage to dance with him and get dissed, and then howl a lot to recover and act like he meant to go staggering backwards, or was I imagining it?
Yeah, I can't quite make out what happened there despite having watched this like seven times. It almost looks like someone tried to pull him down into the crowd.
It had its moments, both bad and good. He's a LOT better at belting it out than he is at crooning it - and towards the end he started to get a little too "uh what do I do now to keep jazzing it up" with it, sorta like he was singing the anthem at a Braves game.
The moment when he first started belting it was awesome though.
He's good with "moments," basically a better performer (and (re)arranger of music) than a singer. Recently, he slid across a baby grand piano during a performance of Coldplay's "Clocks", timed perfectly to land right at the moment where he needed to resume playing. I just about did a spit-take.
That, of course, was the performance that got him voted out.
Hope really shouldn't enter into it... Based on past performances, there's no possible argument for them kicking off Ryan over Storm. He's had four weeks straight where he has wowed everyone, whereas she has just been good. Yes, I don't think he would have been the right "fit" for their ridiculous band of over-the-hill rockers, but... There's also no way Storm could possibly win.
Supernova was intimidated by Ryan's intensity and the idea of a lead singer who will outshine them.
And Tommy Lee kept Storm because she sat in his lap.

I'd pull him down with me. That cover was hot.

I was really hoping for Big Wind Storm Large to get voted out.
