CHARACTER NAME: Jennifer Sparks
FANDOM: The Authority
CHRONOLOGY: The Authority: Revolution Issue #7
BACKGROUND:
Jenny’s role in her world is playing the part of the Spirit of the 20th century. She is there to represent the century as well as influence its direction. In a nutshell, She also serves as the defense mechanism for Earth, protecting it for long enough until it can get into the next century. Her earth is not too different from any other, with a few exceptions. Technology is more advanced wen it comes to certain people, such as The Engineer's nanomachines and Apollo and Midnighter's biological enhancements. There's a shiftship The Authority lives on called The Carrier, which is everywhere at the same time as being where they are and being chronologically tied to the Earth. The Carrier can open a Door just about anywhere on the planet and in other dimensions. All the members of The Authority have to do is think of or state a place and say "Door". Due to the tinkering of The Engineer, all members of The Authority have Radiotelepathy which allows the mto talk to each other. She’s lived 100 years so I’m just going to summarize it in delicious bullet point format to save myself you all trouble.
• January 1, 1900: Jenny Sparks is born. She is the most powerful of the Century Babies up to this point, and will later be called “The Spirit of the 20th Century”.
• 1913-1919: Jenny’s powers begin to manifest and on her 19th birthday she meets a painter who gives her a small painting as a gift. She tells him that his paintings are awful and advises him to go into politics. After her 20th birthday she ceases aging altogether. The British make contact with Sliding Albion and in order to put a more complacent ruler named Lorenzo in power and keep Sliding Albion from invading, Jenny marries him and castrates his uncle before going back through a door. It turns out that her godfather, Albert Einstein, was replaced with a robot imposter. It shoots her before it is presumably destroyed and they take Jenny back to the university. The Engineer, who traveled back in time to keep her from dying, advises her to write a diary and opens a portal back to Sliding Albion so that Jenny and Ernest Hemingway can rescue the real Einstein and kick Lorenzo, who was not as benevolent as he seemed, off the throne.
• 1919-1929: The Roaring Twenties, a time of great cultural change in the world. The entire era Jenny feels deliriously high to match the mood. Up until the Great Depression, she follows the mindset of the era, it being Scientific Romance. This all comes crashing down when the Economies and the mindsets of the world take a drastic plunge due to The Great Depression.
• 1929-1939: The Great Depression. Jenny matches the mood of the century by feeling suicidal depressed and generally going on a roller coaster ride of emotions along with the rest of the world. She spends most of this time drinking and smoking constantly, becoming a noir-esque crime fighter who is running solely on a cocktail of booze and anti depressives.
• 1939-1945: WWII occurs. During this time, Jenny is made a Colonel of the British Army Intelligence. She has a close brush with death trying to obtain a rare Tibetan egg with a winged woman inside, presumably for a Dr. Jones she is dating. She is captured by Nazis who are about to boil the egg and send her off to be dissected and used for experimentation. Adolf Hitler stops the process, declaring that they do not need her or a "silly egg" to win the war and promptly has them both sent back to Britain, wishing her Happy Birthday as she leaves.
• 1945-1953: Jenny becomes involved with the British Space Group, an organization devoted to interacting with other dimensions without the public's knowledge. During this time, Sliding Albion vents a bacterium attack on their Earth's London over Jenny's London and, due to transversing The Bleed, it turns certain people into super-humans. This supposedly killed most of Sliding Albion and put an end to her involvement in the British Space Group and any other official military force.
• 1953-1968: Jenny joins up with a group of post-humans and attempts to use the group to shape the world. One of their members, Abel Eternity, overdoses on drugs in an attempt to prove his masculinity. He goes on a homicidal rampage and Jenny is forced to kill him to avoid any more damage being done. After this, she disbands the group and her cynical attitude becomes more prominent due to the experience.
• 1968-1982: Due to her disenchantment with the world as a whole, Jenny falls into a deep sleep, doesn’t wake up until 1982, completely missing the 70's like most people had wished they had when they look back on it. She is made the leader a second group of post-humans who obtained their powers via the aforementioned Sliding Albion bacterium vent. They saw here as the "clean one" of the 60's group and were all later revealed to be homicidal cold-blooded killers. Before she quit, she threatened to kill them all off if she ever saw them again.
• 1982-1990: Jenny is convinced to join Stormwatch by Henry Bendix and is forced to head their Black Ops Division, which operated in urban areas and was all about stealthy operations. During this time, she met both Swift and Jack Hawksmoor, having a romantic relationship with the former. After Bendix tries order Stormwatch to kill The High without informing Jenny, Jenny finds out and Bendix snaps. He nearly causes Stormwatch's ruin and kills all the prisoners that were cryogenically frozen in their base. He is exiled from Stormwatchs a result. Eventually, when The High attempts to attack their Headquarters, Jenny is forced to raise the StormDoor to protect the people on board. Impact with it kills The High and Jenny later hunts down Bendix and kills him.
• 1990-1999: Jenny leaves Stormwatch completely and spends some time in London. She eventually gets the idea and bands together The Authority and seeks to protect the entire planet. They end up stopping super-powered terrorists of the Gamorra crime syndicate from carving their mark on the Earth by ramming The Carrier into their fortress, shattering both the force field around it and the factory that made the terrorists and enabled them to teleport. Not long after, Earth as attacked by Sliding Albion. After preventing an attack on Los Angeles, The Authority goes to the alternate Earth and rips the royal family from their throne by submerging most of Italy so they can't regain power. They kill Regis once and for all before leaving and telling Albion to behave now that they have a second chance to be a better world. After the incident with Sliding Albion, the original creator of the Earth, a really fucking huge alien, comes back to find that humanity is now on its planet and that the planets conditions are no longer suitable for it or its children. In an effort to exterminate humanity, it attempted to re-terraform the planet with parasites it had stored on the Moon by sending them down to Earth. That ultimately failed and The Authority piloted The Carrier into God and up to its brain where Jenny killed it by electrocuting the hell out of it until it died. Jenny passed away at the stroke of midnight and the start of a new century as it was destined.
• Sometime during unknown years she has managed to: Dance and bang various post and non post-humans, get her beaten for swearing in Martian, worshiped as a lesser deity, Lead the charge in a secret third World War at the center of the earth, and swim though the streets of Atlantis with John Lennon and Jacques Cousteau.
• Post-mortem: After death Jenny, like all souls, ended up in the Abyss. Eventually inspired by the Doctor’s Garden of Ancestral Memory, Jenny Quantum created Infinite City. All of the former Jenny’s were placed there and it is where Jenny Sparks currently resides alongside other Jennies such as Jenny Steam, Jenny Revolution, Jenny Crusade, Jenny Plague, Jenny Inquisition, Jenny Ra, Jenny Fire and Jenny Stone.

Wiki here.Jenny Sparks: The person this history is about.
PERSONALITY:
Jenny is a very forceful and aggressive person. She has been alive since the beginning of the 20th century and has been tied to some of its most influential historical figures such as Hitler, Einstein and Hemingway. Over the course of her love, she has become a cynical person and also developed habits such as chain smoking, alcoholism and sleeping around. While she is still technically a colonel of the British Army Intelligence and a member of the British Space Group Jenny no longer associated with either group. Although she has military training, Jenny has yet to exhibit any kind of formal combat training and is usually reliant on her powers to murder/maim/hurt things and people. She does however, have minor knowledge in covert ops and firearms due to her experiences in WWII.
Jenny is a loud person and refuses to take shit from other people. When one gets right down to it, she’s got a nasty streak a mile wide and isn’t afraid to throw it around when she has to. She’s got terrible taste in jokes, usually using them to tease her teammates. Jenny has a habit of generally being an ass to everyone, even her teammates. Though she does love them like her family, it’s simply a habit she has. Although she has the personality of an extrovert, Jenny does have her moments of complete isolation where she spends her time getting drunk off her ass, exhaling enough smoke to kill a forest of small animals and sleeping with whomever she wants, no matter the gender. At one point in her life, it became bad enough to warrant sleeping from the early 1960’s up until 1982.
Due to her being the “Spirit of the 20th Century”, Sparks has a close link world and its people and her mood usually depends on how the century is going so far. There have been suspicions that the century itself is based on how she is feeling, but they have never been confirmed. While she does strive to make the world a better place as a whole, she really could care less about the minor habits of other people as long as they aren’t doing massive damage to the people around them or the people of the world.
Jenny doesn’t change much after death. Aside from the fact that she’s no longer leading the team, no part of her personality changes, aside for the promiscuity, and the only reason that changes is because the lack of men of women in The Infinite City that aren’t other Jennys. She plays adviser to Jenny Quantum, who created the city so she could visit the other Jennys of the past.
CLASS: Hero-esque
SUPERHERO NAME: Jenny Sparks
ALTER EGO: Jenny Sparks is always Jenny Sparks. Mild-mannered alter egos are for sissies in her opinion. She’ll probably have to get a job now. Let’s go with Liquor Store Cashier or something.
POWER:
As long as she remains conscious and concentrated, Jenny has the ability to control electricity as long as it’s available to her. She can administer electric shocks mild enough to short circuit someone’s brain and kill them and strong enough ones to turn Nazis into ash. If there are storm clouds in the air, she can summon bolts of lightning to strike various targets and turn into the lightning itself. In addition to that, she can turn into put electricity and travel through power lines and machinery as long as there is a point for her to enter from and one to leave from. She can siphon electricity from other sources to make her electric form larger and her bursts of electricity more powerful. She can also manipulate raw electricity.
Examples of Jenny using her powers:

[The video feed flickers to life though not pointing at anything in particular until the communicator is propped up against something that happened be to conveniently available. Some mumbling is heard and the device is turned on a deceptively young blonde woman with blue eyes, an average stature, a Union Jack shirt and a cigarette in her mouth. She scrutinizes the device for a minute before frowning at it. She doesn’t look too happy to be here and she looks as if she is about to say why, whether or not anyone wants to hear.] Oh for crissakes. What the bloody hell is going on now? This place sure as hell isn’t the damn Infinite City, and I can tell because of the amazing lack of my irritating ancestors. It damn well doesn’t look like The Carrier either.
[She mutters a few curses under her breath before throwing her cigarette down and stamping it out with a nasty attitude, as if it were responsible for her misfortune. She mutters under her breath something about a peaceful afterlife and needing a decent bottle of hooch before turning her attention back to the comm. device.] I’m not supposed to be here, or alive for that matter. This completely ruins the century system or whatever the hell it’s being called. Point is, this is going to seriously fuck up time, maybe, so I hope whoever brought me here is damn proud of themselves. Dammit. Right then, I need to know where I am right now. Those of you out there listening, make with the explanations. Chop chop.
THIRD PERSON:
It’s been several hours and several shots since she’d been brought here and Jenny still isn’t sure how she feels about it. On one hand, she’s sort of alive again and that means that she has another go at making the world better and indulging herself in some good old fashioned hedonism. On the other, she’s been brought to an Earth she doesn’t know by some whacked out machine and she isn’t even sure if this will completely screw the passage of time. ‘Bugger.’ She thinks and it seems like the most wonderful word to sum up her situation.
She pours herself another shot of whiskey and lights herself a cigarette using a spark of electricity from her fingers. She doesn’t give a damn if they know she has powers. It isn’t as if they could hurt her anyway, not without some serious effort on their part. She pulls herself up from the bar stool and downs her shot, taking the bottle with her despite the bartenders protests. She paid for the damn thing and he can go rot in hell for all she cares. ‘Utterly buggered straight to sodding Hell.’ And she decides that’s a much more accurate description of her situation.
She makes it halfway to her living quarters and all the way though the bottle of whiskey before she decides to sit down and think. This isn’t her Earth, or her city. This isn’t her world and these weren’t her people either. Then she remembers Sliding Albion. She remember wiping out their rule and giving them a second chance. She remembers trying to make that world a better place, and that’s when she comes to a decision. When she gets right down to it, it doesn’t matter that these people, this city and this Earth aren’t her own. She promised to make the world a better place, and if she can’t do that for her own, she’ll damn near try to do that for this one. With that settled, Jenny pulls herself off the bench and resolves to go back to M.A.C, sleep though her hangover and wake up and make this world a better place.
“This would be easier if I remembered where the hell the sodding building was…”
