There is a girl named Alexandra in three of my classes. In every class it’s a different Alexandra. There is also another Alexandra who recently joined the poetry club at MCC. In all my life I’ve never known a single Alexandra. Now I know 4. They all have this same sort of stoic toughness that seems very beautiful to me. Well I had to take note of this. I used the internet and found Alexandra. This is what I found.

Alexandra (Greek:Αλεξάνδρα) is the feminine form of the given name Alexander. The name is a compound of the Greek verb ἀλέξειν (alexein) "to defend" and the noun ἀνδρός (andros), genitive of ἀνήρ (anēr) "man". Thus it may be roughly translated as "protector of man.”

I’m actually pretty stoked about it.
