She's awake, but only barely, so he doesn't mind talking to her. "You're beat. Need anything?" He wonders how long this will last, or if her body will give out from the lack of caffeine, or if anything's already happening. It worries him. He hasn't slept at all since they went to Moira's.

Turning her head, she smiled and reached out for him. "Come 'ere, Baby.' Happy to see him but looking a little scared. "No, I'm fine. I was just stupid. I... I kinda snuck out last night and had a venti mocha frapp double shot and, well it wore off."

"Long as you don't drink too much of it." Meanwhile, he plots to hide her car keys so she can't do that again. He cuddles up next to her. "'Sides sneaking out, what've you been doing?"

And she is looking the other way. Nono, not a lot. Just all of it. Murring, wrapping an arm around his neck. "Went and rode Pony, picked up the trouble child here and... that was about it. Went up to the nexus last night.' She laughs. "Was mildly hit on.' She rolls her eyes at that. "Oh and asked to help against some big bad but they needed my mutation and I'm not turning off my watch."

"Someone hit on you? Can I smush them? Please?" Thank God they don't have to worry about her powers. They already have enough on their minds without that stress. "Trouble child? You saw Sam?"

"No, Sassy,' she said, petting her one time rescue, the oversized poodle raising her head. "I got her way back when I first moved here but she was sick and needed training. They called me yesterday."

She shrugs. "Well, I wouldn't have even noticed it but for D'Artagnan the other day. He flirts too but I don't think he knows how to stop. I don't know the guys name, the one that hit on me."

"Who called you yesterday?" He doesn't pet the dog - he knows if he even gets absentminded about it Sassy could end up with broken bones. "If you see him again, point him out to me and I'll crush him, alright?"

"The trainers. She was out at the stables where I keep my horse and... I should mention these things more, huh?' She chuckles, snuggling in closer to Cain. "I promise. Though it's no big deal. I'm with you, remember?"

"Yeah. How'd you get a horse, anyway?" He snuggles back, happy to just hold her. "I still wanna smush someone."

She can't look at him when she answers that. "Tom gave him to me for Christmas."

He doesn't answer that, just squeezes her a little bit to tell her it's alright.

"I made a joke,' she whispered. 'About always wanting a pony for Christmas but I never got one. So he got me a pony.' No, she isn't going to cry, dammit.

"So, I've been explaining how cars work to a Musketeer,' she whispered, trying to change the subject.

"He doesn't know about modern technology and stuff yet?"

She sighs, wincing and slinking down a little. "No, he doesn't. I've been explaining showers and such to him."

"I could give him a crash course in programming a VCR or something. Does he know what those are?"

"Nope. He's a true Musketeer, out to stop the archbishop or something."
