(no subject)
OK it's been a while but I've had a really good reason, really. I've been packing and moved to Indio and since then have been unpacking. I think I'm almost done. I can't find my digital camera though and I don't remember where I put it. Stupid.
Anyway, I'm in my new 2 bedroom condo which is mine. And by mine I mean I bought it and I am an owner not a renter. This I find extrememly, well, grown up. I feel like an adult which kinda freaks me out.
For the next 2 months I need to lay low due to the fact that I will not get a paycheck until the end of September. Sweaty balls. At least I won't really have to drive anywhere anymore with gas being about $3.30 a gallon here. What rocks though is that I can get avocados for 8 for $.98. I love avocados. I start my new job August 31st. I'm only a little nervous, nowhere near how I felt when I started at Patterson.
Speaking of Patterson. I sent all my students a letter saying goodbye etc. It's the only way I can think of saying what I want without stepping on anyone's toes. I left them my email if they ever wanted to talk to me again. I guess that'll be ok. It's not like I gave them my home address or anything.
Martin's dog Nena and my kitties have started to get used to each other. The cats still won't walk by her if they see her and they still hiss and swat at Nena when she wants to sniff them. Watching them is better then TV. My allergies haven't been tooooooo terrible. The first few days I was sneezing like crazy and I'm still a little stuffed up, but I have definately gotten better and used to the dander I guess. Nena's tongue just needs to stay away from me. I break out in hives whenever she licks me, which is stupendous. She's a sweetie though and has started to bond with me since I'm home all day with her. Nena still doesn't listen to me if Martin is around though.
