cars = financial black holes

So now I have to drive my mom's behemoth monstrosity of a man-truck to work tomorrow, because the alternator belt in my car snapped. And it snapped at a really good time, too. I was driving home from work, and I had just pulled into the subdivision off from the highway when the battery light came on, and the lights started dimming. Grr... Oh well, atleast it didn't kill another alternator. I'm in no position or mood to spend $100 on the contraption. But from what I've gathered, I'd only have to spend up to around $20 for a new belt, which isn't too bad. And it's not behind a serpentine belt, so it'd be easy to replace too.
