My parents went out to dinner tonight. They've been wanting to go since their anniversary back in April, and they finally now went. Before they left, my mom said she was talking to one of her friends/coworkers earlier in the day. Now, my mom works at the middle and high schools that I attended, so she knows almost all the faculty in those 2 schools, in addition to most of the administration at the district office.
So anyway, my mom told me that apparently one of the high school teachers had died the other day. She told me that, evidentally this teacher was diabetic, and she didn't know it.
I had her as a teacher my freshman year, just for one class, for one semester. She's one of those teachers who, if you were on her good side, she was nice to you... if you were on her bad side, she'd make class a living hell for you :P
I can't say that I'm sad or anything from hearing this. Just kinda gave me a bit of a shock...

Kathy M. Ledington, 50, Caldwell, died Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at a Boise hospital of natural causes. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church, Caldwell. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Farmington, Wash., on Wednesday. Arrangements are with Dakan Funeral Chapel. 459-3629.
