Shocking sad story about monkeys...
Scientists carried out this rather cruel experiment on monkeys to find out how advanced their levels of compassion towards their fellow beings were (like they hadn;'t worked it out through simple observation!).
Monkeys were kept in a cage, with food in a device which would give a fellow monkey a painful shock if opened... now the monkeys worked this out fairly quickly being intelligent animals and 87% of them starved themselves for up to a fortnight... their compassion for their fellow beings was that strong.
I think many humans could learn a few lessons from the monkeys.
