Room 307, Friday Evening

Jul 25, 2008 17:50

Live each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influences of each.
~Henry David Thoreau

Lucas was holed up reading in his room on a beautiful day. It was kind of absurd, really. Even Mr. Throeau would agree that he needed to get out and do something.

Of course, if Mr. Thoreau had called home to find out that his brother's divorce had gone through, his friend discovered a new mother, his father was still ruining everyone's lives, and his own mother had gone off to New Zealand with her boyfriend he might have been holed up with some books.

Life obviously went on, and maybe sometime soon Lucas thought he could jump in and start living. For now there was his bed, his headphones, and his books to keep him company.
