I yam bach from socal! Nothing else very eventful happened, besides me learning how to play mahjong (and subsequently getting totally pwned by my dad, my Filipino uncle, and professional mahjong-playing aunt) and maybe a few disastrous games of Guitar Hero. Oh yes, and me stuffing my face with excellent, egg-sellent foodstuffs. My cousin got drunk two nights in a row, which was highly amusing. And also I made significant progress on my scarf! Christmas day was chaotic, of course, mostly because we had to take the obligatory family photos. Which is tough when there are about 40 people involved.
Yesterday I went with my mom to SF. Holy crap, I don't think I've walked that much since I went to Mexico City in junior year. We walked from my dad's office in the financial district through Chinatown to Pier 39, then back through Chinatown to Union Square, then back to my dad's office.
Here is the rough route, although Google Maps thinks that people drive everywhere so it's not quite accurate.
Today my mom, my brother, and I were going to go to
this sushi buffet place in Davis, but the line was hideously long. After standing around for about an hour, we realized that we probably wouldn't be able to get a seat and actually eat before they closed. So instead we went across the street to
this Nepalese/Indian buffet place, which was decent but just a little anticlimactic after getting ready to hork down some sushi.
