New York

Jun 30, 2011 13:01

Got home from New York yesterday. Can I just say that I absolutely LOVE New York? Seriously. I fell in love with the city. The people I was with were pretty darn amazing as well, which might have helped. ;)

The first day we got there, Tonje and I were both tired as heck when we arrived. We went to the Benjamin hotel to wait for everyone, and the first person we saw was Stephanie! We ran into her almost right after we arrived.

Then Colleen and Gwen came and met up with us, and we went with our bags to her office. (Her office is pretty. With pretty pics of her and Eric!).

We then sat there and waited for Traci and Terri to come join us - and when they finally arrived I gave my american Mom a big, big hug!

When everyone that was arriving that Thursday had arrived we went to eat. By then both Tonje and I were so tired that we were about to fall asleep. It was a nice dinner though!

June 23rd; We went sight seeing and saw a lot of New York, including the statue of Liberty. We went to Staten Island by ferry, and took a couple of pictures of the statue. (Of course I did!).
When we were all done doing the tour, Tonje, Steph, Bhumi, Gwen and I went to Johnny Rockets, which is a diner with a 50's theme. It was awesome! I got a yummy Sandwich, and the diner played an Elvis song, that made me happyface! (As happyface as the ketchup we got. Drawn smileys!)
Bhumi, Steph and Tonje were looking at Destiel vids while we were at the diner, which was pretty funny. They love their Destiel ship!
Also, our waiter-dude at the diner was pretty cute, which was a big plus.

June 24th; We went on the double decker bus tour. I was supposed to go see "Next Thing You Know", but I arrived 10 min after the show started, so I decided to join them on the bus tour. I'm glad I missed the show that day, because I absolutely loved the bus tour! New York City is beautiful, and it was a great way to see the city. I actually sat next to a fellow norwegian on the bus, and her and her friends were talking A LOT during the tour, the guide-dude eventually asked them to please be quiet, though.
This day ended AMAZING, with gay marriage becoming legal in New York! We were all SO happy when we found out! We went out to celebrate after that. I mean come on, who wouldn't after news like that?!

June 25th; aka. the most epic day ever. It started off with some of us going to the Harry Potter exhibit. I'm not really a Harry Potter fan, but I decided to go anyway. It was pretty fun seeing props and stuff from the movies though, I have seen a few of the films and enjoyed them enough to appreciate it.

After that we went to see "The Normal Heart", and when Tonje, Bhumi and I were outside waiting for Col and the rest of the gang to show up with our tickets we saw Luke MacFarlane walk by. TWICE. And boy did he look drop dead gorgeous.

Anyway. If you haven't seen "The Normal Heart" and have the chance to do so before it ends, GO FOR IT. I absolutely fell in love with it. Joe Montello rocked it - he was SO amazing in it. The play was so emotional, so greatly done, just...amazing. Jim Parsons was adorable in it, so funny.
At one point during the play we were all crying our eyes out, it was so sad. Gosh. Like I said, if you have the opportunity to see the play, do it. You will not regret it.

When the show was over, we went outside and Joe came out, followed by Mark Harelik and we got our playbill signed and snapped pics with them. We had to run after that though to make it to the NOH8 photoshoot, and we missed Jim Parsons by TEN minutes. TEN MINUTES. Gah, that was a bummer. But hey, this day ended so epicly that I can't even complain. Seriously.

We went to Central Park to take the NOH8 pictures, and I was only there for a few minutes before I had to run. I had to grab taxi to go to see "Next Thing You Know" with Adam Kantor. And this day, I actually MADE IT. Kind of proud of myself for taking a taxi all by myself in a big city like New York. Anyway, I loved Next Thing You Know, it was really funny! Adam played a character named Darren, and Heath Calvert played a character named Luke. The Luke character ended up stripping down to his boxers during the play, I approved!

When the show ended I was waiting for Col to call so I could meet up with them, and Adam came out, and I went over to him. He actually remembered me from my facebook wall post to him where I asked if there was a place in the theatre where a friend of mine and I could put our bags (we thought we would go see it the day we arrived), and he once again apologized for that, and asked me how my flight was, how long it was, if I liked New York, how long I was gonna stay and if I liked the play. Then he gave me a hug and thanked me for coming. Got a picture with him after that and I headed out to meet up with Col and the gang to go see Reserved for Rondee at Sullivan Hall.

I was still on a high from meeting Adam Kantor when we arrived at Sullivan Hall, so when Billy walked by and Col told him that we were part of the "crew" that was with her, he high fived us all. How gorgeous is Billy? I mean seriously. He's drop-dead-gorgeous. My reaction was "So..that's..Billy."

We went inside and since nobody was in the front, I went over to stand there. Better place to take pictures / videos. Reserved for Rondee was AMAZING live! I was actually surprised at how great they were live. I'm always pleasantly surprised when bands are good live, though. And their music is the kind of music that I would listen to, so I definitely fell for the bands music. I even bought a t-shirt after the concert! More about the shirt later, though!

The show was great and involved balloons and a crazy pink bunny. Me liked! At the end, Steph was dragged on stage by Billy (and almost fell!) so she was on stage during the last song, which was pretty awesome! I was so happy for her! :D

After the show, I got a drum stick! I love my drum stick.
I walked around and talked to people, and eventually went over to Nicole and she showed me a pic of Billy and Steph and I was all "I wanna meet Billyyyyy", and she said that he was gonna come out again soon. We went over and met Tom (pics+vids do not do him justice by the way. HANDSOME.), and I got to say hey and take a pic with him. It was pretty funny though, Nicole couldn't figure out how to take a pic, so I was all "omg sorry" to Tom, but he just laughed. I look pretty scared in the pic, though!

After a little while, Billy came back and I got to meet him. He's such an awesome guy, I can't even.. Again, there was some problems with taking a pic, but it worked out eventually. Sweaty Billy pic is nice!

I thought we wouldn't see any of them until we were going to the afterparty, but Billy and Tom ended up coming outside to talk with us all anyway! I loved Billy's reaction to Tonje and I being from Norway and Bhumi being from England. So, so awesome, haha. So Col (I think?) wanted to take a pic of us three with Billy, y'know - the euro gang and Billy. So Bhumi, Billy and Tonje sat down and there wasn't really a place for me to sit, so I was all "hmm, there's no place for me to sit." So Billy dragged me down to sit on his lap and went all "you can sit here" or something. That was way too much for my fangirl brain to handle, haha. Billy is one comfy chair, I'll tell you that.

Then there was that epic moment when Angela showed him her tattoo, and Billy went "You just showed me your ass, man!!" or something along those lines. Too funny!

After a while I saw somebody come out with a Reserved for Rondee shirt, so of course I had to go buy one! Once again I ran into Billy and he saw the shirt and was all excited that I bought it. "You got a shirt, that's so awesome!" haha. I love Billy, can you tell?

Anyway, when we were going to the afterparty, some of us walked, and some took a limo. A LIMO. I was one of the people who walked though, it wasn't too far.
The first thing I did when I got there was go to the restroom to change into my new shirt and put on some more make-up. The afterparty was so epic, I can't even write down everything, I would end up writing a book!

So, apparently Trevor, the singer in the band really wanted to meet Tonje and me, so somebody ended up introducing us and he was so blown away that we were from Norway, it was pretty funny. He told us a lot of stuff we should do while we were here in New York, and chatted a little bit with us all. He's such a nice guy.

I ended up going over to Billy to ask if it would be weird if I asked for another pic with him now that I had my shirt on and he was all "No, of course not! I could sign it in the pic. Does anyone have a sharpe?" so someone came over with it, he posed while signing it and the picture turned out so hilarious I can't even. Most epic pic I've ever taken with anyone! He saw the pic, and one of his bandmates came over and then Billy went "I signed her boobs, I signed boooobs!" I almost died laughing and blushing haha!

Later, some people were getting their drum sticks signed, so I decided to get mine out as well, and got Tom and Billy to sign it. Billy was sitting down when he signed mine, so I sort of gave it to the person sitting closest to give to him, and after he signed it he scooted over, kissed my cheek, gave me a hug and thanked me again for coming. (I love Billy. How many times have I said that by now?)

During the night, a lot of songs came on, so a lot of us were doing a sing-along, it was pretty funny! I was sort-of dancing, too - although I can't dance for shit. haha.

I remember one of the songs being "Don't You Want Me Baby" (y'know, the song Blaine and Rachel sang), and Billy walked by singing it, I was all *swoooon*.

I ended up going outside with Colleen and Teri, and Billy was outside as well, so we basically stood outside and talked to him for a good while, it was pretty nice. He also said at some point during the night that we should watch the Pride Parade from one of the stairthingys in some buidling, that it was amazing watching it from there. (How awesome is he, seriously?)

Later, when I had been outside for a while again - I ran into Billy in the stairs and he was about to leave, so he stopped me and gave me yet another hug and thanked me yet again and said "see you later". I HOPE SO.

The band stayed until around four in morning, and we stayed a bit longer. We were supposed to get up early the next day to go see the pride parade. Let's say we were tired as hell when we woke up!

So, onto June 26th. We woke up, like I said - we were all tired as hell, to go to the parade. Although we were all tired, I think the parade pretty much woke us up! It was very fun to see the parade, really amazing. The guys behind "it gets better" was there, and I was able to snap a picture of them. The timing of New York making gay marriage legal couldn't have been any better! *

After the parade we went to go see Lefty Loosey Righty Tighty. (The movie with Eric Sheffer-Stevens). It was really, really funny, I loved it! Eric's character, Frankin was pretty funny, but I really, really, really adored the character of Lloyd! I really can't wait for everyone to see that movie. I hope you'll all love it as much as I do!

Jenny, Eric's wife was there, but Eric was not. He was supposed to, but had to go to L.A, sadly. I didn't talk to Jenny, but from what I saw she seemed really nice. AND beautiful!

Later that day, we went back to the apartment (after getting Misha minion hats, yo!) and watched Supernatural and Ten Inch Hero. When that was over, we took some pics of the beautiful sunset.

So, June 27th. was pretty chill, we didn't do much that day. Tonje, Nicole and I ended up going into the city to do some shopping. It all got a bit complicated since Colleen and Traci were on a boat tour, and Traci had the extra key. I think nobody really thought about it that day, so some of the girls were going back but didn't have a key, and there was nobody home. Steph ended up joining us in the city and we sat on the red steps for a good number of hours. It became out second home in New York!

June 28th was a sad, sad day. We were leaving New York. I fell so much in love with the city and the girls we were with that I started crying when we were leaving. It was so sad! Gosh.
But as you can tell, the sadness of leaving was all worth it. I had the time of my life. ♥
