Election Day started off great. The polling place was in my subdivision. It went very smoothly and no lines. Then I went off to class. I am glad that basketball season started and I was able to watch the my Pistons vs. Rockets. I was able to watch the championship banner ceremony. Hopefully, the pistons can repeat this year and show that last year was no fluke. Great game. T-mac did rather poorly against the pistons and that was bad for my fantasy team. I was watching both the election results and live fantasy basketball stats. Sadly, I was interested in the election results more.

The good thing about this election is that there were a lot of first time voters. People like andrew and suketu who never cared about politics started to care and went out to vote. Kerry did not run a good enough campaign. I think the major blow was Daschle getting booted out of office. I am more disappointed about that than Bush getting reelected. The religious right is what won the election for Bush. All I can hope is now he does not make the same mistakes in the last four years and just learn from them. He should be able to do a good job in the next four years with a House and Senate majority.

I am glad all this negative campaigning is over. It seemed the extreme left and right were throwing so much garbage and slander at each other. Now, people are saying all sorts of extreme stuff just to get attention. I enjoyed Michael Moore documentaries because the main message was correct. However, some of the details were extreme and just total bullshit. You just have to be aware of it. Then, you have people like Michelle Malkin, a Filipino-American, justifying the Japanese internment camps. That's ludicrous. Now the election is over. Hopefully, this stuff will die down.
