Been living in Portland for over a week now. It's not as bad as it originally was. I was homesick for a while but I'm over it. Right now I'm on a band hunt. I've sent a couple of bands that need vocalists some messages but I'm a little nervous. I just need to sing for a band now so I can get some stage experience in Portland and get back into my groove. I haven't been on stage in a little over 6 months and I've got to show this town I've got some fucking pipes and send the children back to bed. The problem is finding a band that isn't full of shitheads with limited musical taste, egotistical buttheads with little grasp on heavy music circa 1967-1975, and musicians that don't feel like I'm trying to steal their light. I'm sick of playing with people that stopped growing musically at a certain age and are stuck on listening to the same stuff they were listening to when they were 17.

If you're a serious musician, then you need to step out of yourself and listen to what you normally wouldn't listen to. It's the only way to grow and get better.

I've got a few auditions this week. We'll see how it works.

PS. Saw the Red Elvises last week at Dante's. They were one of my all time favourite bands in highschool. It was the best show I've seen since ELO in 1997.
