Influenster's ModaVoxBox Unboxing & Review

Nov 05, 2014 18:35

Disclaimer - Influenster is a pretty awesome program, where you sign up, pick passions of your life, and for each of those passions you will out person survey’s, links, and reviews (either write or recommending).

The end result of which is getting sent a complimentary (read free) VoxBox of samples from Influenster, which you are then asked to review (through another set of surveys, twitters, Facebook, istagram photos, vine/youtube videos and blog posts - whatever your review schtick is and however much you decide to be involved with reviewing).

Just so you don’t sign up expecting a big sudden bang of getting boxes, I signed up about two months before I got picked for my first box. So my best advice is sign-up and do all the things on the website you can, and you’ll end up there in a few months.

Jergens
Unboxing Thoughts
Ooooh. I always love super moisturizing things. This one does smell pretty generic, which I'm not a big fan of after loving a lot of the shea butter, triple cream lotions coming out of BBW in amazing scents lately, but I'm excited to try this one (and it's one week to smoother skin challenge) none the less.

Tested Review
Well. This was a spectacular flop. I had to stop this one at on day four. It doesn't smell great or really like anything, but by day or three it made the palms of my hands feel weird and then itchy. I pushed past day three, but day four it stopped. We'll call this another product failed by my super hyper-sensitive skin.

Rimmel London

Unboxing Thoughts
I am super excited about these three. The lipstick tube is rockin' purple, and the red shade inside of it is intense. Given that I've been on a red kick this year thanks to both an earlier Ipsy bag and one my samples in the Mary Kay voxbox, I'm really glad to see this. The mascara wand looks interesting, more thoughts later when it's out of the plastic. I've never been a big fan of liplines, but this one is "invisible" so count me curious.

Hair Food

Unboxing Thoughts
I really don't use anything but super moisturizing dove on my hair, because my hair like my skin is finiky to the extreme. But I promise to at least give this one a good solid try before letting my opinion cloud it. It does, as a plus, smell heavenly in it's apricot honey scent. I could breathe this in for hours.

Tested Review
Oh. God. I loved this. It smells even more divine in the shower space, with the hot water and steam. It made my hair soft and was a bunch of fun to not have so many terrible complaints testing hair stuff almost always does.

Swiss Miss Cocoa
Unboxing Thoughts
I'm more excited about the coupon to get the dark chocolate box of this object in the brand, than the sample itself. I'm not a big fan of generic hot chocolate blends (and a *massive* fan of higher end, well made, cocoa and chocolate pieces ones), so we'll see how this one goes.

Tested Review
I'm very 'enh' about this. I broke out my best normal cup, and a nice teaspoon as you can see, but it was pretty much generic grocery store hot chocolate. I could really taste a "five ingredients only" difference. I would not consider this one bad or good. It's more just, middle of the road, generically 'okay.'

Resource Natural Spring Water
Unboxing Thoughts
Ummmm....water bottle? I'm jazzed to try anything new, but I'm not quite sure I've figured out why and what and etc with this one, except for the fact it's here. So. Uh. Wee. Water bottle.

Tested Review
Pretty much what it says on the tin. It was water, in a bottle. Didn't taste bad. Didn't have any odd side effects. Cooled. Refreshed. Did that thing that water bottles do. Didn't really stand out. I do kind of like the label, since I've had to look at it a lot, but I don't have a massively exciting review for drinking water.

Puff's Softpack

Unboxing Thoughts
I cannot stop grinning at this one since figuring it out in the middle of my unboxing. This is totally puff's answer to the danger of hard tissue boxes in the car. It's a soft, squishable package that can't hurt you when you slam the break or get into an accident. I'm all sorts of delighted at this just for that fact.
