It's that weekend, again

Another reason I'm very glad to be gone from the state. I watch others talking about their plans, get my inbox swamped with gift ideas, watch other parents reaching out and those gone now remembered, and I....don't really know how I feel this year. Hollow, maybe? Tentatively uncertain? Emotionally oblivious most of the time, until some other outside source reminds me?

My father is very much alive and lives, if he has not moved, less than twenty minutes from my work. I'm in the third year since I got home, and near fourth since the last time he spoke to me. I am the third child he's done to this, of all three of his biological children still alive, even if it did take him twenty-five years to get around to me.

So. Yes. Happy Father's Day to the men who choose to be fathers.
I know very many in and out of my life who are truly Men among men.

As for me I plan to be wrapped up in The Midsummer Fae Glory Sunday.
