Adventures in amazing cooking this week

I love my kitchen. This is a rare fact that very few people, including Earl, get to witness, unless they've known me for a very long time. I have five million kitchen gadgets and appliances, because I've lived on my own for ten years now and gone through endless waves of new things to try and make and cooking styles. I will never really need anything for my kitchen when/if I get married. At all. (Aside from a Kitchen Aid.)

Lately, I've been gravitating more and more to it. One -- It's the next biggest room of stored things I need to go through and either a) organize or b) decided what it is time to get rid of. (Though 'b)' admittedly is harder, as I live with another person, and thus several of our things are in duplicate at times.) But it is next. And it will probably be done today/tomorrow, as I spent this morning making all the dishes go away and then scouring counters and the stove top until they shined.

Also, I've been getting more foodie-ish, which is unsurprising really. Back when I went to Chico's often I'd buy whatever the weekly sales were for fruits and vegetables to troll the internet and make amazing dishes with them. I finally got back into that this weekend. And, also, amazingly, trelali, the internet bake sale girl extraordinary/lovely lovely woman I get to trade tea for sweet with every month, keeps a food blog, which inspires me to try recipes that she loves.

Last night, I had my dinner in amazing courses. First Course: Roasted Beets with Balsamic Glaze. Second Course: Roasted Chicken with Lemon slices, onions, Bay leaves, paprika, salt, pepper, rosemary and garlic (with thanks to the Wild West Group for extra spice advice pre-roasting). This morning it was Decadent Scrambled Eggs. And I've been blowing through my organic fruit juice (as now I have Mango, Pineapple, Black Cherry, Pomegranate, Apple, Grapefruit, and Prune).

Mmmmm. Life is good.
