A.K.A What Do You Mean Amanda's Learning How to Breathe Without Her Binky Laptop?
Beginning
Stage 1: Crazy crack appears in screen. Many theories why, no one's sure though.
Stage 2: Earl & Amanda spend an hour on the phone with Dell to get prices and a part number.
Stage 3: Amanda buys laptop screen replacement from Amazon for 1/4 Dell's price. Shipping time: 3-6 days.
Stage 4: Amanda takes her laptop, with its half screen usage, to Dragon*Con anyway.
Middle
Stage 5: Amanda returns home to find the new screen waiting: VICTORY!
Stage 6: The next day it is dropped off to the installers, with a 3-4 Day wait period.
Stage 7: The installer's call and say it is the wrong screen. Correctly ordered, incorrect Dell part number.
Stage 8: Return ship First!Replacement Screen for Full Refund (They were awesome.)
(Bringing us up to tonight)
Tomorrow: I will order Second!Replacement Screen, with installer's CorrectPart Number
Soon: I will take the Second!Replacement Screen to the people holding my laptop (& my work deposit)
NotSoonEnough: By binky baby will come back home to me.
But until then, Earl is being really gracious and he's let me borrow his laptop which is a strain at times, cause I'm all persnickety. But he's really awesome. And he's being really generous. And I love him. And so I may be a little slow at following what people are doing but I'm sort of totally here.
will & grace,
about me,
