Godiva Hilarity
So Earl and I went off to Godiva today, as we are wont to do from time to time, as you know. When we walked in there were two new boys at the register we didn't know. Who answered our questions all short and clipped. Saying the new samples for the Ice Cream Parlor line would be out after May 9.
And then they pretty much ignored us entirely.
We spent another minute or two tooling around the display cases before looking up to see Our Favorite Manager walk in. Who was exuberant and involved and the first words out of his mouth were "We have samples of the new line in the back room. Do you guys want them?"
Suddenly, our brand new workers were very intrigued with the back of their hands and the register and looking anywhere but at the three of us animatedly talking. While he brought us unopened boxes of samples, which of course we asked for two of every new one, and then all the barks to try finally.
They spoke to us only once more, to tell us about other new little basket things coming out, and then vanished quickly on to their break. It wasn't as though we said anything about them to him, but they vanished so quickly and suddenly, and we were all lost in our love of chocolate with Our Favorite Manager.
