Colloquialisms have nothing on me

Where you grew up (Ages 0-18): 0-2 in Texas, 3-4 in North/South Carolina, 5-18 in Texas.
For other relevancy, my mother's family is from Michigan through Main and my father's family is from California. I am the first and only south-westerner in my family.

1. A body of water, smaller than a river, contained within relatively narrow banks: creek, stream, bayou, brook

2. What the thing you push around the grocery store is called: shopping cart, basket

3. A metal container to carry a meal in: lunch box, lunch pail, lunch bag

4. The thing that you cook bacon and eggs in: pan, frying pan, skillet

5. The piece of furniture that seats three people: couch, sofa, futon, settee, love seat

6. The device on the outside of the house that carries rain off the roof: gutter, rain gutter, storm drain

7. The covered area outside a house where people sit in the evening: patio, balcony, porch, veranda

8. Carbonated, sweetened, non-alcoholic beverages: disgusting Soda (in general, but I call them by name when there is only one), Italian soda, flavored water, ginger ale

9. A flat, round breakfast food served with syrup: pancake

10. A long sandwich designed to be a whole meal in itself: panini, sub (marine), po boy, hoagie

11. The piece of clothing worn by men at the beach: shorts, swim shorts, swim suit, bathing suit, trunks

12. Shoes worn for sports: tennis shoes, walking shoes, running shoes, gym shoes, sneaker

13. Putting a room in order: cleaning, neatening, readying

14. A flying insect that glows in the dark: firefly, lightning bug

15. The little insect that curls up into a ball: roly poly, pill bug, do-do bug

17. How do you eat your pizza: I pick off the topping, eat them. Sometimes scoop off the sauce with a finger and eating. Then I throw away the bread -- usually to some other horrified person that sees this as wasting it, or to a lovable pet.

18. What's it called when private citizens put up signs and sell their used stuff: garage sale, yard sale, resale, flea market

19. What's the evening meal?: dinner, supper

20. The thing under a house where the furnace and perhaps a rec room are: basement, bunker, cellar, storage room

21. What do you call the thing that you can get water out of to drink in public places: water fountain, drinking fountain

I'm surprised you didn't ask me how I like my grits, eggs, chips or tea.
