Ahem. Mini-soap box moment.

So my problem with Vampire Diaries 1.17 is the same problem I have with most vampire canons where you try to do these things. ( Wherein it's not really even a spoiler, but I'm nice )

I actually agree with you here.

I mean, the episode was awesome, much better than the two previously, but when they entered that house, and started fighting, and they turned on the facet and food processor (which you have to give the writers props for that just because that was actually pretty smart, at least they did SOMETHING) I still couldn't help thinking, 'geez, even with the noise, vampires should be hearing this, the fighting and actual rescuing, especially the actual rescuing like right away instead of 'shh, wait what is that' because they weren't making any noise (Damon and Elena) to cover up what was happening in the basement, like they had tried to do in the upper part of the house.

Just, fail! Even if I like the show for the show, and stopped comparing it so heavily to the books (I like that I don't know everything that is going to happen, it makes it more enjoyable), stick to your cannon because it makes you look stupid when you don't.

Oh, if anybody else hasn't recommended this series yet, you must read the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. I think it actually beats out the NW series for me as my favorite, at the moment, anyway (which for me, as you know, is huge.) I think you'd really like it.
