Surprisingly, it's not for bad reasons, which most people start to poke me and make sure things are alright when too many days pass without me writing much. It's a little bit stunning to be able to glimpse three different Consumption Posts on the front page, making it three weeks worth of entries. I promise I am safe and sound and mostly fine. I'm just a lot in the way of horridly busy.
My project-thesis is due in two days (along with my homework readings and paper for the night), my RCG Hekate intensive weekend (which I'm teaching part of) is in three days, my master's final and last class is in nine days, and in thirteen I move out of my apartment. Needless to say--that is of the very busy making.
Thus, here's some random cool stuff I've missed out on writing about
- I'm feeling really comfortable with my project-thesis. Friday I did topical edits for errors. Monday I handled all the bigger ones, needing extra explanations and examples, more pages added in for historical background on the early terms for discourse. Today's editing was an idea from
sageness, which is to have
TextAloud read my paper to me and edit any errors that pop up or whenever I hear sentences or paragraphs that don't flow right. It's a genius idea (for my genius Girl) and it's caught a half ton of little things neither myself or my paper Head caught. I'm only half way through and on break. There are a metric ton of pages.
- I've started an online Elements class with my RCG group. In it we're spending six weeks on each of the elements, starting with air which we are presently in. I've been having a blast with this one, since air and I have bonded so much during the last year. There are PDF packets sent out full of information. I have a mini altar dedicated to air on the corner of my livingroom table (picture forth coming). I wear a chakra bracelet on my left wrist to remind me to think of air whenever I look at it. And recently I ordered a
tiny adorable butterfly charm from Etsy for wearing when I'm feeling all air related during this, too.
I've had some stunningly marvelous air break throughs, too. I'm hoping all the elements end up so well.
- I went to the Texas Renaissance Festival this weekend for Roman Bacchanal, which was lead by the Italian Court, which
evegryffindor is in. It was a blast. I spent two days out there getting to see a huge plethora of friends (Kat, Carly, Joe, Peter, Cat, Mike, Eva, Ricardo, Heather, Kevin, Billy, and Jim) , which was awesome because it got me to see so many people and spend a weekend enjoying something I won't get to do next year. I got to hang out back stage with the actors the night I stayed and ran into
track_grease out of the blue, first time in about five years, which was made of awesome, too.
I am really glad I kept this on my calendar and got me another chance to see this many of the fabulous people in my life I might not have gotten to on my short time clock.
- I am having a confounding time trying to figure out how to add music into my Media Consumption, because it's such a big part of my week and life and stuff, but I am uncertain how to record it or mention new things in those lists. (Ideas are totally welcome.) Some big new favorites I've been listening to:
Dreaming Through the Noise,
Waking Hours, and
Warm Strangers by
Vienna Teng; advised to me by
saphyria The Awesome.
New Releases which Own My Heart (and iPod/iTunes/car radio):
Jewel (
Perfectly Clear),
Twilight The Original Movie Soundtrack (iTunes bonus tracks version),
Loreena Mckennitt (
A Midwinter Night's Dream) and
Enya (
And Winter Came).

yuletide sign-up finished last night and about thirty minutes ago I received my
yuletide assignment. I'm actually debating between two of them, even though one I definitely wasn't matched for. I'm just feeling creatively inclined since I'll have a lot of time next month to really do a lot of nothing with and exploring that fandom wouldn't be too hard. My persons letter is still missing specifics for his/her choices but I'll keep it on hand and watch for updates.
To my
yuletide writer, you'll find your letter
HERE.
And to the rest of you, I send you all my love.
I think it's time for me to find a peach, check the mail and run my afternoon errand.
Then I will be returning to my paper and softly dreaming of the free time so close I can taste it.
