So...there is a holdup in whether or not UCSF is going to hire me for this RA job. To make a long story (and believe me it is a long story) short, the prof/boss, Dr. Mackin, wants me. He thinks I am the best fit and he wants me for the job. However........there is a rule/law/whatever that says you have to give ex-UCSF employees-who-have-been-laid- ( Read more... )

Job searching is a bitch. And it sucks because you're applying to so many different types of jobs that you can't streamline a cover letter. Did I mention how much I hate those damn things? When I got my hair cut a couple weeks ago, the hairdresser told me that her husband applied to a job that had 300 chef's applications within 3 days. So it kind of makes sense when you think about it that way why some of us aren't getting hired. Not saying that it's fair, because it isn't.

Also, as a complete random aside I totally just read a fan fic (yeah, I'm a dork) about a D/s relationship. Quite an interesting read too! It was all from sub perspective and now I'm reading the second installment which is from the dom perspective.

Anyway, good luck with your job hunt. I can't afford SF but I've decided that I may be able to afford subletting in Chicago sometime this summer or something. I visited there actually last weekend and had so much fun! Your a sox fan if I remember correctly so you won't mind me saying the I got annoyed by the Cubs and their fans as we passed Wrigley on the red L. My friend lives by Aragon too, which is funny because that's where we went to see Muse like 3 years ago, but it looked so different from this other perspective as a part of his neighborhood! You'll have to remind me sometime what part of town you're from since I'm actually more familiar with the area now. Okee dokee, I've rambled enough, lol.

I am a Sox fan! Cubs fans are like a buncha stupid frat boys! I think I saw Muse for the first time around that area, right around Wrigleyville. Anyway, I'm from the Hyde Park neighborhood, which is on the south side, basically 54th St. and Kimbark Ave. I remember when you and RaeChel visited, seems like ages ago.

Haha, so true on the frat boy comment! Funnily enough, when I was visiting Dave, his frat brothers were there and they went to the game on Sunday. That was the day I left and on the L I was stuck surrounded by those fools (not his friends, but just random Cubby fans - frat boys and sorority girls). Anyway, I can't speak for White Sox, but the Brewers are so much better because we can tailgate in the parking lot. It's all part of the baseball experience! The three b's: beer, brats, and baseball!
