New Cell Phone

I got a new phone. Here's a picture.

You may be asking, "Why didn't you get an iPhone? You're on AT&T for gods sake, you could have upgraded to an iPhone 3GS or an iPhone 4 for less than $100 bucks!"

Yes, that's true. Being an existing Cingular/AT&T customer for multiple years has its advantages when it comes to the iPhone, but I'm not one for smartphones. I use my cell phone for two purposes: calling and texting. That's it. I have a digital camera that takes photos better than a cell phone. I have a Macbook that browses the internet faster and better than a cell phone. I have an iPod touch (which came free with my Macbook), that is not only a better MP3 player than a cell phone, but also, with a wireless connection, does everything an iPhone does except the one thing the iPhone really sucks at: being a phone. There was a time not too long ago when we all lived quite comfortably without the existence of a smartphone, and that time was 2005, so don't go off telling me I'm "so 20th century".

Besides, I like the flip phone. The past two phones I've had were flip phones, and I enjoyed them both dearly. It's something about finishing a communication and just going *flip* to be done with it. It's very satisfying. Example: "No, fuck you, and don't call me again!!!" *flip*. See? You don't have to search for a button to press on a touch screen, you just close the phone. It's like slamming down the receiver, mobile version. Can't do that with an iPhone. Plus they're small and fit into my pocket easily.

So to all the iPhones, Droids, Blackberries, and HTCs out there, you can kiss my ass. I'm kickin' it old school with Nokia, circa 2005.
