There was an earthquake in Myanmar on March 24th.
You probably didn't know.
While I applaud everyone who's donated/donating to Japan, since the earthquake/tsunami/nuclear meltdown/volcano, Japan doesn't really need all of the funds. In fact, the Japanese government is
limiting their foreign assistance and asking people not to donate their old
shoes/shirts/shit (DO NOT SEND YOUR OLD CLOTHES ABROAD. EVER. PLEASE. FOR ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY IN THE WORLD.)
All this to say, if you happen to not win your
help_japan auction, or happen to have a few dollars to spare, please consider donating that money to Myanmar (whose government is asking for assistance) or Haiti or Brazil or New Zealand.
(Disclaimer: I'm not from Myanmar; I know no one from Myanmar; I'm not affiliated with the government or any Aid agency that works in Myanmar.)
