1. NCIS: LA is really gay. I mean really gay.

2. There's a surprising amount of blood in a finger. One would think I hit a major artery the way it's gushing.

Let me start with this. In bandom, and in most rpf fandoms, the people we are writing about are kind of like actors in our stories. We give our characters the look and the character of a rl person, like, say Ashlee Simpson, because she and the world she inhabits are interesting and familiar to a group of us. We don't actually think that Ashlee and Pete and Patrick had a threesome. I mean. [blushes] I don't think we believe our fics are true in any real sense. But Pete represents something to me, and when I use him in a fic, it's like I could thank him for allowing his likeness to be used.

That said, when i think of notably sad events in the real lives of these "actors" we use in fic, those sad events are part of canon and are available for us to use, later, to tell stories that are inside of us and need to get out. Bert and Gerard's friendship break up. Gerard's crashing and burning and then getting sober. Mikey's mental health issues. Bob leaving the band. These events are all fair game, as are the happy events in their lives: marriages, children, artistic success, etc. But I personally feel that the sad events in particular deserve some polite space before they can be twisted and used for fun in fandom.

I mean, the Panic!break up is a good example. It's fair game now, I think, for fandom to write about those events and twist them to be about whatever the author wants. But perhaps right when it happened, not so much. Maybe I'd like us to process it with time as a rl event before we twist it to suit our purposes.

I don't know how long is long enough. And others are free to disagree with me about waiting. I'm not offended that you'd wonder if now was too soon or not! At some point, this divorce will be fair game like all the other event in their lives.

I mean, I certainly CERTAINLY don't want to discourage f/f porn in any form! lol!

Does that make any sense? I do want to learn more about Bebe in general for fic purposes. Maybe I should be encouraging you more?? :) Whenever you write it, bb, when I am ready for it, I would LOVE to read it!!!
