Also, I managed to finally watch Inception this weekend! I was sort of distracted at the beginning because I was attempting to talk Yuletide, but hahaha that conversation got derailed pretty fast.
I selfishly want you to come play in A:TLA with me (because fix-it fic! and gaang shenanigans! and backstory and alternate scenarios and reconstruction and and and), but I'd be happy to read pretty much anything you write, so. ;) &hearts
Yeah! In addition to the original series + the movies, there's a new set of films out. The first couple follow/rework the old canon material, and then it starts going off into AWESOME NEW DIRECTIONS and reaches unmitigated levels of epic!

I really want to play in A:TLA, but for some reason even reading in that fandom seems strange to me. I have no idea why, because I love the source material and I want more stories. :( :(

Inception I mostly enjoyed for the team!factor, because I am predictable like that ahahahaha! SAITO AND ARIADNE, YOU ARE MY FAVORITES &hearts (and okay, Cobb would be a favorite too if he weren't so significantly fucked up.) Also the premise was nice chewy brain food that most movies these days are sadly lacking, so I appreciated that. :3 It's not my favorite movie either (my current bests are still Red Cliff and Pan's Labyrinth), but I can see how it makes for an awesome fandom playground!

Ahaha, yes you are. I love TEAM!!! stuff though. And I love Ariadne! And obviously I love Arthur and Eames, but there's actually so little basis in canon for where fandom has gone, which is bemusing but totally okay. My favourite part of Inception is the brain food aspect -- I mean, give an English major a text about dreams and s/he'll go wild with it. :D

I think I could maybe handle vids! Closer to the original source material. (I have this problem with certain TV fandoms, and not for others. No idea why.) Is there somewhere in particular I should go to find them? :)
Hahaha, Arthur and Eames are cute and hilarious but aside from them being, you know, played by JGL and Tom Hardy (whose attraction factor I just do not understand but whatever, I'll roll with it!), I sort of don't get it! I didn't actually find them shippy with each other for more than five seconds, whereas I was shipping Cobb and Saito and Ariadne and Mal and Yusuf all over the place omg. Um, fandom/fannishness is a curious beast, news at 11?
OMG I HAVE NOT PIMPED RED CLIFF TO YOU?? :O It's John Woo's war movie about the Three Kingdoms period, and it's absolutely EPIC. Movie website & IMDB, plus wiki & glorious picspam if you don't mind some spoilers. ;)
I second the recommendations for Red Cliff! It is epically epic, and absolutely gorgeous. There are scenes in it, like with the wine cups, that stick in my mind constantly.
I am very attracted to both of them, but mostly I have NO IDEA WHY. They just, asdflwaelsld;f. :D
But yes, I'd say that Cobb/Saito is the most obvious ship in the movie. So many long glances and significant pauses! But unfortunately, though I find Ken Watanabe hot as fuck, I am not attracted to Leonardo DiCaprio. At all. Not even a little. Maybe negative attraction points. *sigh*

Hee, no, the JGL part I definitely get! (This might sound a bit odd, but- aside from the bbface, his body makes the most gorgeous lines even when he is being utterly ridiculous! It makes me very *_______*)
And HAHAHAHA, OMG LEO. As I said to someone on my flist the other day, there is a line in a certain A:TLA fic that references Haru's moustache as two caterpillars that died on his face. Leo's facial... fluff... thing... looks like two GHOST caterpillars that died on his face! So even though I find him all right if mostly uninteresting without the facial hair, WITH it I find him utterly WTF.
That does not sound ridiculous! I can totally relate to ogling the sharp, clean lines of his body. ESPECIALLY IN A SUIT but even in his hipster clothes. *nods*
