down there in wacky SoCal, the Lake Elsinore Storm minor league baseball team considered having a "Top Gun" night to honor one of the all time top films. They were going to have this night appropriately enough while playing the High Desert Mavericks. Maverick as everybody knows was Tom Cruise's call sign in the film.....
Instead it became more specifically Tom Cruise night, where not only did the team give away 'bobble couches' of tom cruise jumping on oprah's couch (one of many ebay links) but they had a silent inning where no music was played and no batters were announced, to honor the 'silent birth' of suri! bahaha. kinda brilliant.
