From a prompt, write for 15 minutes only and do not stop. " Picture yourself in a smoke filled Jazz café, the singer has just finished his/her set, and and has walked over to the bar, and is sitting right next to you..."

Sweet sounds of lyrics
"String of Pearls"
Still fills the air

Mingling with blue black smoke
And the chink of ice in Johnny Walker

She sits beside me
Glowing from a night
Weaving words and song
She is a presence
A life borne to sing
To entrance mortals with sound

As she leaves the stage
She does not dimish in power
Her smile mixes with the atmosphere
To make a song for the eyes
To match the feast of the nights main stage

Never once does she speak
A nod and a wink to the bar keep is all she needs
Adoring fans come up
At first trepidatious
But her loving glance
Borne of the muse
Draws them in like flies

Signing autographs one by one
She is silent
In stark contrast to the vibrant lyrics of the stage
Life down from the pedistal seems to take her voice away

Slowly the light fades from her eyes
As the magic of the performance
which was like a ritual to summon great gods
Fades from her eyes
So to she once again becomes human

No longer the nymph on the stage
But some how more fallable
More human than the persona on stage

Slowly, imperceptably
She turns from her greatness
And just like a desert mirage
As the nights performance fades from the minds of the audience
So to does the woman who sang them

Before my eyes
She fades from goddess
To Human
To Ghost
To Nothing
