The declaration of independence was written by people seeking freedom, and willing to put their lives on the line for it. Arlington cemetery, and indeed many cemeteries around the nation are full of people who game their lives to protect that ideal of freedom. Even now our forces fight for freedom of others. We held the unalienable right of freedom to be worth spreading to others. I may not approve of our methods, and I may not like all the things that America as a nation and a world police do.
But I support our troops. And on this day, in my own way, I honored and mourned our lost. The brave men and women who, when the call came, rushed into action. Those who fought and died to ensure that I and my friends have their freedom. It is written on the tomb of the Unknown Soldier: "Freedom is a light for which many men have died in darkness."
