OK people

Today's word of the day: Compromise. com·pro·mise. -noun 1.a settlement of differences by mutual concessions; an agreement reached by adjustment of conflicting or opposing claims, principles, etc., by reciprocal modification of demands.

Now don't get me wrong. Actually who am I kidding. I really don't care if you get me wrong. Cause well. I don't.  There are somethings you should never compromise on. It's true. But seriously, the majority of people today seem not to be able to compromise now a days.  And they wondered why people don't want to be around them sometimes.  With out pussyfooting around, it's not about you, all the time. Yes you like things a certain way. Hell I even like things a certain way; doesn't mean I get to have it that way. I realize that in order to coexist (relatively peaceably) you have to make concessions.

Concessions are fine with me. I mean that's how you learn and grow as a person, by putting yourself outside your comfort zone.  Which I'm sorry to inform, means thinking about others instead of yourself.

Which brings up the point: there is only so much thinking about others and compromising one person can do if the other party(s) don't return the favor. When that happens, well, you're bound to find out that compromising can come to a violent and abrupt end.

That thought actually almost makes me sad, cause then a vicious cycle starts and we're back to square one.

So if you're one of those people who don't. Get off your pedestal in your ivory towers  and think about some one else for a change , cut some people some slack you'll be more likeable.
