Mental Year

Jul 06, 2011 22:30

Jack was riding shotgun when I went to the drive-thru at the pharmacy today. At the window I tossed my benny card into the drawer. It's been a while since I have had to pay for prescriptions since I met my out of pocket maximum a few months ago. Handfuls of crazymeds will do that rather quickly. My keystone med is not yet available in a generic, it just got approved for another year on the trade-name formulary. I pay close to $100 a month for that, which would retail for nearly $400. It's criminal. There are six others in my cocktail. Yes, I am lucky and very thankful to have such wonderful benefits. But I'll trade ya...

Upon seeing the benny card...

Jack: Oh, we're using Benny again?
Me: Yeah, technically it's a new year.
Jack: (in a voice that conveys he finally understands the workings of our HSA) So, the physcal year is over and now the mental year has begun!

jack says, crazy
