The beginning...

Kitten asked about this and LJ makes a good archive, if nothing else, so I thought, "Why not post it? It's cut so no one who'd be bored to tears by it has to read it." So there you have it.

This is the first "chapter" of the first short story in the book Yevon's dogma and the People on the Spira in the section "The tales of no name summoners". ( Read more... )

Therefore, she wanted to see herself.

I don't quite understand the meaning here, within the context of the paragraph it encompasses. care to explain a bit more? Wanted to see herself... how?

Hi, I'm the dumbest person in the world! *big smile* ~__~;; Yes! I got your email!! THANK YOU SO MUCH! That was so sweet! I actually got a little choked up looking at it (even though some of the pictures were quite..interesting. ^__^;;) But it was really cute, so thank you thank you thank you. I definitely feel loved. *MASSIVE CHUUUUU*

As for the line, I don't really know what it means either. ::crashes:: The exact line is "だから、自分を見てほしい" and 自分 means "oneself" and because of the context, it has to be "herself" and not "itself" (referring to the aeon). And て form plus ほしい means "expressing something you want someone to do for you". However, the person you want to do this thing for you is usually marked by the particle に, but because this book hates me, there is no person marked by に. SO, maybe what it means is because she wanted the aeon's power and was willing to offer up herself, she wanted the aeon to be able to see/look at her? That's the best I can do.

There was a word in this damn passage that even a Japanese person had never ( ... )

I'm glad you liked the pic! I mean well, they do give off crazy zany girls vibe didn't they? ^___^

hmmm ok. That makes a bit more sense. I thought maybe there was a typo or something but it just wasn't meant to make sense. EH?!?!? the author is making up words??

but you must translate more, if only for me, but I will read it and comment. ^__^

Aw...you get extra special, Heartless-proof hearts for that comment. < /geek > *♥♥♥♥♥♥* I appreciate it so very much, honestly I do. =^_____^=

As for making up words, my guess is that it's just a reaaaaally old world. The girl I asked was about my age and didn't know. It wasn't in any of my dictionaries (and that's saying something, considering I have three), and it wasn't in Tei's, but I asked another friends, Sarah, and she gave me two phrases she said her dictionary (electronic one) had spit out when she entered the word. ?___? So who knows... The words she gave me were in my dictionary and kind of made sense with the other adjective in the sentence (it was the part "It was seeing a dream...") so I just went with that.
