November the 18th and 19th: And it's gonna be another busy weekend...

Whew, had the last photography speaker of the semester last night so hopefully that can stop eating up my Thursday night (of course, we don't have more than one or two of those left anyway, starting to freak out because of how close the end of the semester is and I still need to make six new prints from scanned negatives, ack). This was a rather good speaker however, he kept me engrossed for an hour and half just talking business and I find business to be completely boring normally, but this was really good. And I couldn't help but think it was amusing about how I'm hearing all these stories on author's blogs about how Coloumbia's MFA program/any MFA program really needs to have some business courses or at least lectures for the students to attend and here I'm going to all these mandatory lectures on it, taking courses in business and public speaking, despite my grips with the photo program they are actually making sure we don't sink as soon as we get out there.
So, beyond that, Thursday was about an average day, although I was distracted since dA wasn't letting me do anything and I really wanted to get a post up about the new noitaminA episodes on the new club's journal and it looks like only other people on campus were having trouble with it. Lovely, the school system has seemed more buggy than normal so far this year, hope that it gets fixed soon enough since it's, well, annoying that I can't do some of my duties because of something totally outside my control.

So, Friday wasn't quite average but it wasn't exactly interesting either. Didn't have public speaking class but went anyway so my professor could look over my outline for my next speech (persuasive speech, why the bus system is good/needs expansion, she was really enthusiastic about it and thought that I could make a great speech out of it), had a smoke detector installed in my room (since, as my roommate put it, we're totally smoking tons in our room every single day), went to Japanese, hung out with friends after Japanese, rode bus to and from Michaels for circular knitting needles (I had been debating back on forth on them for a while but decided yes since I now have two hats I need to sew, one is holding up a cosplay actually, and I promised one of the members of the knitting club I'd show her how to knit a hat this week), worked on art homework, watched an insane amount of Buffy (and almost fell out of my chair laughing at how the secret and technologically advanced base under the college looks like the inside of a warehouse covered in tinfoil), and saw Battle of the Rockbands (pst, on campus nightclub, would it kill ya to not be totally random in your lighting? It makes photography a pain if I have absolutely no idea when I can actually see the people playing on stage) and that ended early so I've just been NaNoing ever since. I'm expecting tomorrow to be a bit dull too, busy but overall unfulfilling, gah, I would say I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving break then to catch my breath but since this year that means five straight days of travel I just can't wait for winter break, I need actual time to sew stuff dammit!
